CD NEWS 2007

Chandos are currently recording two CDs of Leighton's Orchestral music.  The first will include the early Symphony for Strings, Organ Concerto (with John Scott) and the Concerto for String Orchestra.  The second will include the large scale 2nd Symphony, with Sally Matthews, soprano and the orchestral Te Deum with Roderick Williams, baritone.  The orchestra is the BBC Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Richard Hickox.

PUBLICATIONS

FESTIVAL FANFARE FOR ORGAN

This work, formerly published by Carl Fisher, is now available from The Leighton Trust, price £5 including p&p.  Perhaps better known in the USA than in Britain, this work was performed by John Scott in his final recital at St. Paul's Cathedral in July 2004.  Deservedly popular in the US, we hope more organists will come to know it in the UK.
